Frequently Asked Questions.

1. Is there a lot of pain?

At Oyama Cosmetic Surgery, we take every measure to insure your comfort and security. Surgery includes an M.D. anesthesiologist, who will create a euphoric, pain-free environment for you. Post-operative pain is a very rare complaint and usually minor.

2. How much time do I need to take off from work?

For most procedures, one working week will be sufficient. For a lower eyelid blepharoplasty, a weekend should be sufficient. For a facelift, two working weeks are recommended.

3. Where is surgery performed?

Our surgical suite is located within our office, complete with state-of-the-art equipment. We assure you a safe and private surgical experience.

4. Is cosmetic surgery risky?

Any time someone undergoes surgery or anesthesia, there is always a small risk. Risks include infection, bleeding, asymmetry and unusual scars. However, medical risks are extremely unlikely for cosmetic surgery procedures, and statistically occur less than 5% of the time. You can also reduce your risks by choosing a qualified plastic surgeon and closely following his or her advice, both before and after surgery.

5. How long does the surgery take?

    Eyelid Surgery: 1 hour

    Nasal Surgery: 2 hours

    Breast Surgery: 2 hours

    Facialift: 3 and 1/2 hours

These are approximate times only, and there is usually a one-hour recovery time after surgery for the anesthesia to wear off.

6. How long does the surgery improvement last?

After cosmetic surgery such as a facelift, or eyelid surgery, you will continue to age. However, your appearance will always be younger than if you did not have surgery.
